RECIPE© (RLV/Rocket Evaluation and Cost Integration for Propulsion and Engineering)

It is a software solution for enabling collaborative computing and automating exchange of information in the design and analysis of launch vehicles and other complex systems. RECIPE© can interact with and incorporate a variety of programs, including legacy codes, that model aspects of a system from the perspectives of different technological disciplines (e.g., aerodynamics, structures, propulsion, trajectory, aeroheating, controls, operations, and cost).

RECIPE© provides a tightly integrated conceptual framework that emphasizes connectivity among the programs used by the collaborators, linking these programs in a manner that provides some configuration control while facilitating collaborative engineering trade-off studies.

In comparison with prior collaborative-engineering schemes, RECIPE© has been shown to enable fewer engineers to do more work in less time. The software works on Macintosh and PC.

NASA has used it for has successfully used for engineering trade-studies for conceptual modeling and technology benefit studies for a variety of launch vehicle concepts.
